The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is an all volunteer arm of the United States Coast Guard serving the boating public on the Jersey Shore. Operations are directed by United States Coast Guard Station Manasquan Inlet and United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Division 16.

Flotilla 16-05, originally chartered in Island Heights, New Jersey in 1966, has been located in Brick, New Jersey since 1980.  The Flotilla serves both Brick and Toms River, NJ and performs services such as conducting Safe Boating Classes, Vessel Safety Examinations, Maritime Observation Missions (formerly known as Safety Patrols) and Marine Dealer Visits around the Jersey Shore. The Flotilla also enjoys the fellowship of its members as well as the advanced training that is received via the Auxiliary Member Training Department.

Flotilla 16-05 is comprised of 35 very dedicated members, four patrol boats, sixteen boat crew members, twelve vessel examiners and six public education instructors. Specially trained members serve proudly at Coast Guard Station Manasquan Inlet, Coast Guard Station (SM) Shark River and the Atlantic Strike Team (AST) that supports the US Coast Guard’s National Strike Force (NSF) located at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ.

We are always looking for interested individuals to join us. You could find yourself saving lives, protecting the environment from polluters, guarding our shores from terrorists, training the boating public to boat safer and much more. That’s our job – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. That's life in the Coast Guard Auxiliary. We don't just train. We train and perform.

We meet the 3rd Friday of each month at Station Manasquan Inlet and you are welcome to join us. Please contact our staff at our Flotilla Email or our Flotilla Phone: 732-701-7849 to make arrangements to attend the meeting.
